PROJECT AFRICA is delighted to offer the first gem faceting program here in Ethiopia (June 2024). This intensive program consists of 150 hours of practical instruction and is divided into two levels:

LEVEL ONE (50 hours)

Under the guidance of internationally trained gem cutters, students will learn everything they need to know about faceting gemstones from basic cutting and polishing techniques to operating a faceting machine.

LEVEL TWO (100 hours)

Students will attend classes five times a week for four weeks to gain additional practical experience faceting gems. They will also learn how to calibrate a handpiece, dop and preform their stones and use a transfer jig.
